Canadian Global Affairs Institute nominates Knowlton for her contributions to the community and country in public policy in business and philanthropy

Calgary, Alberta --- July 16, 2025 --- Nialli Inc., a SaaS collaboration company focused on transforming construction planning processes, announces that Nancy Knowlton, the company’s president and CEO, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, the medal recognizes Canadians who have made significant contributions to their country, province or community, or who have achieved distinction abroad that brings credit to Canada.

Nancy received the honor at a ceremony hosted by the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI) on July 15, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, in recognition of her contributions to the community and country in public policy in business and philanthropy. The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, made remarks and presented medals alongside CGAI leadership.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was presented to Nancy soon after she was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, in 2024, by the Governor General of Canada, the Right Honourable Mary Simon, for her exceptional contributions to education.

A pioneering figure in Canadian technology, Nancy has dedicated over 30 years to transforming the way people learn and collaborate. Before cofounding Nureva, she and her husband, David Martin, created SMART Technologies and introduced the SMART Board®, the world’s most popular interactive whiteboard. Today, Nancy is the president and CEO of Nialli, a company that develops intuitive digital planning solutions to help construction teams collaborate more effectively and keep projects on track. She is also president and CEO of Nureva, driving innovation with audio conferencing systems powered by patented Microphone Mist™ technology, which is simplifying audio for hybrid teams and classrooms around the world.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished Canadians,” said Nancy. “I’m grateful to the Canadian Global Affairs Institute for nominating me and to everyone who has supported me in the pursuit of ideas that improve how people connect and learn.”

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is awarded to Canadians who embody a spirit of service and dedication, and it is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation. In addition to Nancy Knowlton, 10 other Canadian business and public sector leaders and philanthropists received the medal after being nominated by the CGAI Calgary office:
