Add and edit an activity in the phase plan

Build and adjust your phase pull plan

In the phase pull, you can add, edit and manage high-level planning activities directly. You can create new tasks, adjust details and manage constraints — all within the planning view.

Add a new activity

To add an activity to a phase pull lane:

  1. Right-click on the lane in which you want to place the activity (or press and hold on a touchscreen).
  2. In the contextual menu, select Add activity.
  3. The Add activity dialog will open. Fill out the following fields:
    • Activity name — required.
    • Schedule activity ID — optional.
    • Trade — required. Select from the drop-down list.
      • By default, only active trades are shown.
      • Use the Active trades toggle to view all trades (active and inactive).
    • Number of days — duration of the activity (1–99). Default is 1.
    • Crew size — number of people assigned (1–99). Default is 2.
  4. Click Save to create the activity or Cancel to discard changes.

Note: The Save button will remain disabled until all required fields are completed.

Edit an existing activity

To modify an activity already placed in the phase pull lane:

  1. Right-click any tag of the activity you want to update.
    • Alternatively, double-click (or double-tap on a touchscreen) to open the edit dialog.
  2. In the menu, select Edit activity.
  3. The Edit activity dialog will open. You can update:
    • Activity name  — required
    • Schedule activity ID optional
    • Trade required (select from drop-down list)
    • Constraints — view any existing constraints tied to the activity
      • Use the drop-down list to review constraints
      • Click Add constraint to open the constraint creation dialog
    • Copy activity — use this option to create a duplicate activity with the same setup
  4. Click Save to confirm your edits or Cancel to discard.

Note: To adjust the number of days in an activity, use the 3-dot control in the lower-left corner of the tag.

Add a constraint to an existing activity

Inside the Edit activity dialog, you can add a constraint to the selected activity. Adding constraints directly in the dialog ensures that blockers are captured in real time and associated with an activity — keeping the whole team informed and proactive.

  1. On the constraint drop-down list, click Add constraint.
  2. Fill out the following fields:
    • Constraint name required
    • Activity constrained auto-filled
    • Details optional — add relevant notes
    • Person responsible — optional
    • Date to be resolved optional (choose from the calendar)
  3. Click Save to create the activity or Cancel to discard changes.

Note: The Save button will remain disabled until all required fields are completed.

Note: When a constraint is added to a task, a yellow dot will appear on the affected tag — and on all dependent tags from the same activity. This visual cue indicates that the activity is under a constraint that will require resolution before proceeding or moving the tag to the weekly commitment plan.

Edit a constraint in the edit activity dialog

After constraints have been created, they appear in a list in the Edit activity dialog. To edit a constraint:

  1. Right-click the tag to open the Edit activity dialog.
  2. Click the constraint in the list to open the Edit constraint dialog.
  3. In the dialog, you can update:
    • Constraint name — required
    • Activity constrained — auto-filled
    • Details — optional notes or context
    • Person responsible — optional
    • Date to be resolved — choose a deadline in the calendar
    • Resolved toggle — when enabled, a new field appears for entering the Resolved date
  4. Click Save to confirm your changes or Cancel to discard them.

Note: When the Resolved toggle is turned on and a Resolved date is set and saved:

  • The constraint will be marked as resolved in the constraint log.
  • It will be removed from the list of any activities it previously affected.
  • The yellow-dot indicators on those activity tags will also disappear, showing that the constraint is no longer active.
