Touch gestures

When Nialli™ Visual Planner is set up on an interactive display, you can use touch gestures to change and update elements in the plan. Multiple people can make changes and updates simultaneously. Working on a plan set up on an interactive display is an alternative option to using a mouse and keyboard. For assistance on choosing a touch display, refer to our hardware recommendations section.

The following are the main gestures used in Visual Planner:

Single tap

Make a single tap to select or choose an item. The single tap has the same function as the left click of a mouse. The single tap can be used, for example, to select a plan, select an activity tag or choose a reason for variance. A double tap on an activity tag opens the Edit tag menu.

Touch and hold

Use the touch and hold gesture to open a lane header menu or to open menus on an activity tag or on a lane. Touch and hold is equivalent to the right click of a mouse.

Touch and move

Use the touch and move control to move the plan forward and backward, move the date control footer, move a single tag and create a dependency with the arrow on an activity tag.

Two-finger touch and move

Use two fingers to touch and move a group of tags that are in an activity. The keyboard equivalent is to select the group of tags using the left click of a mouse and the Shift key.

Two-finger twist

The two-finger twist gesture is used to mark the status of an activity tag. This is the alternative of using the right click of a mouse on the tag and choosing the tag status in the menu. A single twist to the right marks the tag as done. A second twist confirms the activity was completed. Twisting to the left indicates the activity was not done and the Reason for variance menu opens to select why the activity wasn’t completed.
