Activity task status

How to update tasks in your plan to show if they are completed or off schedule

During weekly planning sessions and when work is completed, the statuses of tasks are updated by the individuals responsible for them. This ensures the information in Nialli™ Visual Planner reflects accurate field conditions and helps identify what’s done, what’s delayed and what needs attention.

Mark a task as Done and Closed

To track progress on a touchscreen, use a simple gesture

  1. Twist the tag to the right using two fingers.
    • A diagonal line will appear on the tag to indicate that the work is done.
  2. The superintendent (general contractor) can then twist it again to the right to confirm.
    • An X will appear, indicating the task is officially closed.

Using a mouse?

  • Double-click the tag, or
  • Right-click to open the status menu and choose the appropriate option.

Mark a task as not done

Sometimes, work doesn’t get done and it’s important to understand the reason. To mark a tag as Not done:

  1. Twist the tag to the left using two fingers.
  2. A drop-down list will appear. Select the reason for variance in the list provided.
    • The task will now be marked as incomplete and flagged for follow-up.

Using a mouse?

  • Double-click the tag, or
  • Right-click and select Not done to open the reason for variance drop-down list.

Select a reason for variance

When a task is marked as not done, you’ll be prompted to select a reason. Nialli™ Visual Planner includes a pre-loaded list of common reasons for variance — such as Material not available, Crew not available and Design issue

Note: The plan administrator can customize this list and add new reasons to better reflect your team’s workflows. Learn how to set up your Reasons for variance

Note: Accurately marking the status of activity tags is critical for generating reliable Percent Plan Complete (PPC) metrics and improving accountability across the team.
