Calgary, Alberta — September 23, 2025 — Nialli Inc., a SaaS collaboration company focused on transforming construction planning processes, announces enhancements to Nialli™ Visual Planner, its digital platform that helps construction teams implement Lean practices for effective jobsite planning and coordination. Building on customer feedback and industry insights, the capabilities of Visual Planner have been expanded to further simplify the adoption and implementation of Lean construction methodologies modeled on the Lean Construction Institute’s Last Planner System®.
One of the most significant enhancements in this release is the transition from a Windows-based application to a fully web-based platform. This shift enables users to access Visual Planner from a Google Chrome™ or Microsoft® Edge browser, eliminating the need for installations or updates and delivering seamless planning experiences wherever teams are working. In addition, support for single sign-on (SSO) authentication is included to simplify secure access within enterprise IT environments. Furthermore, a new API allows customers to connect Visual Planner data with other applications and analytics tools in their technology ecosystem.
As the engineering and construction sector accelerates its digital transformation, firms are increasingly adopting technologies — including cloud-based platforms, digital twins and building information modeling — to improve productivity, enhance project coordination and address persistent labor shortages. Deloitte’s 2025 Engineering and Construction Industry Outlook highlights how digital tools are being scaled to allocate resources more effectively and improve jobsite safety while creating feedback loops that connect project delivery with operational efficiency. At the same time, a 2025 industry report from Dodge Construction Network and the Lean Construction Institute shows that 75% or more of designers and contractors who use Lean practices expect their implementation will result in improved project outcomes. Specifically, the outcomes expected include more reliable schedules and cost estimates, greater collaboration, higher quality, improved bottom line and increased safety. Nialli Visual Planner addresses these trends by bringing the familiar Last Planner System into the digital realm, offering teams on the jobsite an intuitive, low-barrier planning tool that mirrors their physical sticky-note workflows — with the added benefits of real-time collaboration, cloud accessibility and seamless data capture for teams in the office.
“This latest release of Nialli Visual Planner represents our continued commitment to addressing the evolving needs of construction professionals,” said Nancy Knowlton, Nialli’s CEO. “By moving to a fully web-based platform and enriching the Last Planner experience with innovative features and improved accessibility, we’re helping teams execute their projects more efficiently, collaboratively and profitably.”
Visual Planner maintains its intuitive design, mirroring the familiar tactile experience of physical sticky-note planning boards but with the added advantages of digital permanence, scalability and instant reporting. Real-time updates and automated reporting capabilities such as Percent Plan Complete (PPC) and reasons for variance provide valuable insights for ongoing process improvement.
Since its launch in 2020, Nialli Visual Planner has been implemented by construction companies ranging from large general contractors to small subcontractors. It is designed for the complex, multiuser environment of construction planning, delivering an intuitive, highly visual and familiar digital workspace that supports collaborative decision-making and effective execution of construction workflows. It addresses key industry pain points such as project delays, ineffective communication and inefficient resource allocation by providing a dynamic, interactive planning environment accessible from any location and any device.
The core enhancements to Visual Planner include:
Later this year, Visual Planner will introduce mobile and tablet views, along with the ability to attach site photos directly to activities and constraints within the digital workspace, further streamlining communication and documentation.
